Halloweenies Nominations!

Ah, Halloween.
When we gloriously gaggle with out treats, and get our scare on.
So why not honor those who gloriously make our Halloween magical and dazzling!

Okay, so here are some guidelines:
1. Any abuse of the hostess (moi!), or any voters will not be tolerated, and will result badly.
2. Try not to vote based on looks.
3. Think before you post a comment. I command.

Okay, let's get our noms on!

  1. "Best Vampire"
  2. "Best Witch or Wizard"
  3. "Best Werewolf"
  4. "Best Vampire Hunter"
  5. "Best Ghost"
  6. "Best Halloween Movie"
  7. "Best Halloween Episode of a Television Show"*
  8. "Best Supernatural-Themed Television Show"
  9. "Best Supernatural-Themed Book"
  10. "Best Tim Burton Movie"
  11. "Best Haunted House"**
  12. "Best Simpsons Treehouse of Horrors"
  13. "Greatest Thing about Halloween"
  14. "Greatest Thing about Frank Iero"
  15. "Best Halloween Song"
  16. "Day Halloween Should be On This Year"

* It would be much appreciated if you include the name of the episode.
** Must be widely known. A fictional one can count, but please nothing like "The on 16th Ave." because we obviously have a good chance of living in seperate places.

Now, my little ghouls, get your noms on!

2 Girls, 1 Revolution Day 8: Make up that test!

I've been sick a lot lately. And because of my illness, I missed a test in Frankenstein.

So today, I made up my test.
I have a confident feeling over the test.

I also tried hard in all my classes today.
In Ceramics, I was all finished, so I made a pinch pot and impressed the hell out of it.

So did I really do anything today?
Probably not.
I did buy a cookie from "the Lion's Den" that benefits breast cancer. It also tasted good. It was chocolate with pink candies. With chocolate. Mmm...chocolate.

Why is Internet Fame so desired?

We all know everyone wants to be E-famous.
With the desire for badges (they don't make you famous.) that automatically can cause bitter feuds between users, many are rolling their eyes over badges, while some are spamming badge-holders with questions on how to get them (if there was some secret little spell, do you really think we'd tell you?)

And even with The Suite Life of Zach and Cody on Disney Channel, with one of the main characters, London Tipton, who gets her video blog, and becomes an internet sensation (she's basically gone from a spoof of Paris Hilton to a spoof of HannaBeth, possibly?)
Or one of my favorite shows, iCarly, a show about a girl named Carly (played by Miranda Cosgrove, from School of Rock, Drake & Josh), who lives with her brother Spencer, a sculptor, gets bored and creates a web show, with her friends Sam, a fiery troublemaker, and Freddie, a tech geek who lives across the hall from her and is quite enamoured with her.

And even Perez Hilton, who has become a celebrity himself. (FYI, that's breaking rule #1 of celebrity gossip blogging: Never become a real-life celebrity yourself) and has a clothing line at Hot Topic and millions of celebrity friends. Why? Because he has a website.

With e-fame, you obviously don't get your name on star tours, and you don't get into the same clubs as celebrities as easily. So I would like to know from your perspectives: Why is Internet Fame so desired?

Hispanic Heritage Month (?)

So, apparently, according to Disney Channel and Nickelodeon, it's Hispanic Heritage Month. How are they celebrating? Nickelodeon by Dora the Explorer marathons. Disney by playing music videos of Spanish versions of their songs from High School Musical and Camp Rock.

Why am I celebrating?
Well, as much as I know, I am as white as snow, but I do have some connections to Latin culture.
My dad spent a couple years of his childhood in Uruguay because his dad was doing missionary work down there.

So how will I celebrate Hispanic Heritage Month?
Maybe I'll get a cookbook from the library on Hispanic foods that are not tacos or burritos (nothing against them, but they're so easy to make.)
Maybe I'll educate myself more about Hispanic Heritage.
Maybe I'll learn more Spanish?

So, how will you celebrate?
And please, don't say something like "Eat tacos or burritos." I have nothing against tacos and burritos, but that is not even celebrating at all.
For one, tacos have, to me, become less of a Mexican tradition. It's become the next burger, just another fast food choice.
Second, how easy is it to drive to Taco Time and order a taco or burrito? Very.
Do more than just eat. Learn more about Latin culture. Hell, even watch Dora marathons if you must.

Sorry if I have stuck my head up my ass here.

Bake Rupert Grint empathy/sympathy cookies!

So, apparently Rupert Grint lost a bet with Robert Pattinson.
No word yet on what the bet was about, but instead of losing money, he lost time.
Upon the loss of the bet, RPattz insisted Rupert read Twilight. (I guess we now know what RPattz thinks of Twilight)

Also, poor thing didn't know that there were three more books in the series, and he didn't sound too pleased about the series.

Source who got it from here.

Since Rupert was a fan of Harry Potter before he played Ron, and for not sounding too pleased about the series thus far, he is probably rolling his eyes at the Smeyer/Rowling comparisons.

Any thoughts?

What the Hale?

Read this.
Scroll down to "Is Bella an anti-feminist heroine?"

Not only does she completely avoid answering the question, she makes modern-day feminism seem like feminazism.
Stephenie Meyer, how can you be different from Bella if Bella looks exactly like you?
And does Bella absolutely have to get married at eighteen just because Edward is seventeen? Yes, she can't age too far from him, but how bad would the age difference be if she was 21, maybe?

"When I hear or read theories about Bella being an anti-feminist character, those theories are usually predicated on her choices."
Um, yeah. That's because the whole jumping-off-a-cliff-for-some-guy is not female empowerment.
And don't forget. A lot of those theories are based off the idea that Edward controls and abuses her, and she just shrugs "Okay...", which is anti-feminism.

Today, when I was reading a past issue of CosmoGIRL! with an article written by Leslie Bennetts, author of I Was A Teenage Feminist, and her daughter, Emily Gerard. The photo spread for the article featured teenagers (girls and boys) posing as if they're having a fun time, smiling, laughing, all ranging in skin color and body shape, wearing T-shirts that read "THIS Is What A FEMINIST Looks Like!"

Leslie Bennetts mainly discussed career choices for young women entering college or the work force, and discussing how some women take for granted the opportunities feminism has granted. A direct quote from the article:
"Some people argue that feminism is about giving women freedom of choice, and that means you should be able to forgo a career if your husband makes enough to support your family. But opting out of paid work is playing Russian roulette with your future."*
So compare it to Stephenie Meyer's quote on that question:
"One of the weird things about modern feminism is that some feminists seem to be putting their own limits on women's choices. That feels backward to me. It's as if you can't choose a family on your own terms and still be considered a strong woman. How is that empowering? Are there rules about if, when, and how we love or marry and if, when, and how we have kids? Are there jobs we can and can't have in order to be a 'real' feminist? To me, those limitations seem anti-feminist in basic principle."

Of course, the Twilight Series is not the only force that could inspire me to forget about a possible career in writing.
But let's say I decide to follow in Bella's footsteps.
I find a guy I love, marry him young, give birth to some children, and give up my career and life to raise them.
Then, he gets bored with me, and divorces me.
What am I supposed to do now?
I don't have a career to fall back on to support myself, and my children.

The article has even more fantasic-ness.
Like a quote from then-19-year-old Matt from Mansfield, Texas.
"All the guys I know believe women are equal to men. I want the person I end up marrying to be career-driven. I would love it if she made more money than me."
Or Andy Samberg, who wore a National Organization for Women (NOW) shirt to the Spike TV awards.
Or Liz Funk, a then-college junior in New York, and a member of NOW's Young Feminist Task Force. Liz organized an "Equal Pay Bake Sale" that charged men $1 for cookies, while women payed 75 cents. Black women coughed up 65 cents, and Latina women paid 53 cents. This was done reflecting the pay gaps in this country.

And last thing I must add.
Stephenie Meyer said:
"She is a character in a story, nothing more or less. On top of that, this is not even realistic fiction, it's a fantasy with vampires and werewolves, so no one could ever make her exact choices."
I'm not going to rant about fiction and reality, so I'll turn it over to Wendy.

Save The Music Video!

Sara and I were on AIM the other night, and we discussed ways to save the sacred art of the music video.
A petition? No.
Protest outside of MTV studios? Too much money.
A sit-in? Maybe...
How about...a dance-in!

First, you must videotape yourself dancing to a song. You don't have to be Gabe Saporta, in fact, you could be terrible.
Just dance to any song, video tape yourself, upload it to Buzznet, and don't forget to raise awareness of other videos!

The only restrictions are no nudity, or anything else deemed offensive by Buzznet standards.
Also, you must upload it to YouTube first if you use copyrighted music, because if not, it will cause a major issue with Buzznet and record companies, and we don't want that.

Second, once I get a group up and running, upload it to the group.
That way, we can all share each other's videos, watch in awe, or laugh. Gain more attention to these videos.

What shall this do?
I don't know, but it sounded like a good idea.

Maybe, if I can get permission from the owners, there could be a dance-in at a local record store or music club, and it'll get awareness from News Networks, making MTV realize how big of douchebags they are.

Now, my Buzzfriends, to save TRL, the music video, and perhaps music itself, we must DANCE!

Feedback?

2 Girls, 1 Revolution Day 7: Defy expectations.

Most people think of me as a jeans and t-shirt gal. That I'm not very girly.

So I decided to show them. By wearing a random dress. With leggings of course (my legs get the most feeling.)

And I looked cute.
I got many compliments on the dress. I paired it with black leggings, my black Converse, and one of my favorite hoodies.

But, not very many people were shocked.
Maybe because I, like Alice Cooper, am known for shocking people, that doing something entirely different, isn't that shocking?
Maybe because I'm not labeled anymore?

Because if I am not labeled anymore, than I am happy. I don't want to be pegged as "the tomboy" or "the girly-girl" or even "the man-hater". I don't even want to pegged as "alterna", or any label people can think of. I want to be labeled as a "Brittany (insertlastnamehere)" or "stewieismyhomeboy".

If I'm known for being shocking, though, then I demand a record deal.
And a tour. And for my tour, I demand hot men who will strip, and permission to cover "California Love".

So anyways, I didn't defy expectations, but something odd came with the dress: A sunny disposition for the day. It felt like Weird-Ass Wednesday with John. In a good way.
It's like the dress gave me some confidence that made me feel better the whole day.

Lately, I've been very into Lily Allen, Kate Nash, and Charlotte Sometimes. Girls who sing well, write well, show off sassiness, are independent, and love wearing dresses. That's probably another reason why I felt compelled to wear a dress.
If you've ever seen the episode of Lizzie McGuire where Lizzie starts playing flag football, but is annoyed when she is considered one of the guys, Coach Kelly's advice mimics Charlotte Sometimes words in Buzznet's Warped Tour interview: "You can wear a dress and still rock with the boys."

Thank you for reading.
I have probably written out of my ass right now.
And I apologize for that.

2 Girls, 1 Revolution: Say hi!

Today, I decided to socialize a bit more.

So, in my Ceramics class, I sat next to a random group of guys.
While one of them thought of a great glazing technique, they were utterly boring.
One kept talking about the other glaze technique as "the gay way" and talked about how the glaze smelled like a "fish's vagina" (does a fish even have a vagina)

Hey, I said I tried to socialize. I didn't say I actually had to like them.

Today, friends and I talked together during lunch and joked about referring to each other by our political views, seeing as my Conservative friend refers to me as "liberal" as it's an insult.

Although, the whole branching out in Ceramics made me feel better.
I think I should try it more.
Maybe I will.

So, that was my revolution today. Come out of hiding in Ceramics and say "Hi! I'm in this Ceramics, and I'm a friendly person."

2 Girlz, 1 Revolution: Day 4 & 5: You're sick bitch! Go to bed!

So, in case you haven't heard, I was sick the whole weekend.
Starting Friday.

So my goal for Saturday and Sunday? Take better care of myself.
Saturday I got my rest, took my medicine, and was aware of what I was eating.
Sunday, I laid low, did my homework, and talked to Sara. Boy, is she fun.

So, that was all I did those days. Eh, boring.

Here's a picture for you guys:

True, isn't it?

I iz bored, so I stole from NatalieGray. MWAHAHA!

Step 1: Open up whatever MP3 program you use and add every song in your collection.

Step 2: Put it on random.

Step 3: Post the first line from the first 20 songs that play, no matter how embarrassing the song.

Step 4: Post and let everyone you know guess what song and artist the lines come from.

Step 5: Cross out the songs when someone guesses correctly.

Step 6: Looking them up on Google or any other search engine is CHEATING!

  1. "Why you being a dickhead for?"
  2. "She said get out of my way cause I'm going somewhere"
  3. "Spent most of last night dragging this leg"
  4. "I am a vampire"
  5. "Our love is rock steady"
  6. "He calls the mansion not a house but a tomb"
  7. "Dejalo nuestra cosa"
  8. "We're having a party, dancing to the music"
  9. "I admit that in the past I've been a nasty"
  10. "You're a part-time lover and a full-time friend"
  11. "Penny for a thoughts but a dollar for your insides"
  12. "Dreams, are just dreams, when they're stuck inside your head"
  13. "You've got your mother, and your brother, every other, undercover telling you what to say"
  14. "I served out my detention and in the end I got an honorable mention"
  15. "Grown up, she just turned sixteen"
  16. "When you first left me, I wanting more"
  17. "Ocean man, take me by the hand"
  18. "The city is at war, playtime for the young and rich"
  19. "I think I found the recipe for creativity"
  20. "So there you are, and here I stand, cause I remember you weren't half bad"

Okay, this is super easy.
You guys lucked out.

OMG: Epic win moment that must be blogged.

I was watching an actually good show on the Disney Channel called Life With Derek.

Tonight's episode revolved around a jerk/pig named Truman, a new kid in school, who decided to make a name for himself in a decidedly sexist way. By rating all the girls in the school by their looks, giving protagonist Casey a "6 1/2".

Casey spends the whole episode worrying about why she's a "6 1/2", until she finally comes to her senses and realizes that other people's opinions of her looks do not matter.
Meanwhile, we learn via a Derek-grilling that Truman likes Casey. He gave her a "6 1/2" to get her attention, and he actually thinks she's quite hot. He's also dating all of her friends to get even more of her attention.

At the end, when Casey throws a fashion show where the models can wear whatever they want and the models can be anyone, Truman fesses up to Casey.
"Any guy who actually gave you a 6 1/2 would have to be out of his mind." he says.
"You're actually kind of cute." she says with a smile. "But your personality needs a lot of work." she said with honesty, as she turned on her heels and stormed out.

Needless to say, I was applauding.
Call me a sucker for a girl to stand up to the jerk, but way to go Casey!
He makes a list giving her a "6 1/2", and degrading her and other women and rating them as if they're pigs at the county fair, dates her good friends purely to make her jealous, trying to get her attention, and she's just supposed to fall over it? Um...no.

You may say "What a victory for Disney!" but actually, Life With Derek is owned by a Canadian family television company (Can't remember the name!) and Disney Channel runs it over in the States.

But it's a 1/4 of a step!

2 girls, 1 Revolution: Celebration, let's celebrate.

Today's goal was to celebrate.
We just survived a near end of the world, we're still alive after the 9/11 catastrophe.
So I decided to celebrate.

So I treated myself to Pizza Schmizza. A slice of cheese with large drink. Mmm... it was good.
My mom also joined in and treated me to a Subway footlong meal with Coke, chips and cookie.

That's all I did today, but it felt good.

Some election updates

Senator Barrack Obama supported legislation for schools to teach children how identify sexual predators, and Senator John McCain's camp fires back that he's trying to teach sex education to Kindergarteners. Ugh.
I don't believe in teaching sex to Kindergarteners, but teaching them how to defend themselves against sexual predators? I support with my whole heart.
And you know, you can actually teach a child how to defend themself against a sexual predator without saying the word "sex". Sonic did it.

Let me tell you a story:
When I was in about fifth grade, my mom and I moved into a townhouse in a not-so-safe part of town. There was a nearby playground I would always go to. For the longest time, my mother constantly reminded me that if I was in a position where I could get kidnapped/raped/murdered/fill in the blank, I had to run out of the situation. Hell, she made me watch a Montel special about it. When I was way younger, she would refer to them as "bad people" but as I got older she referred to them as "sex offenders".
So anyways, one time when I was coming home from the playground, and it was getting a tad dark. I was walking home as I saw a suspicious looking guy looking at me. I fucking ran. "HEY!" he screamed at me. My legs sprinted to the house, I locked every door and window, breathed deep and waited for mom to come home.
Had I not known what to do? Who knows what would've happened.

We do not live in a safe world where kids can run around merrily doing whatever they want without getting hurt. Sheltering them from the entire world could lead to a mistake, so they must know how to protect themselves.

John McCain's buddies refer to NOW as National Organzation for Whores and demand Fatimah Ali get a name-change because her's sounds Muslim. Smooth...

So...um...there are some even weirder names in the Bible. Just saying. Like Orpah. That sounds like a whale part.

And you know, Quin, maybe you're just jealous of NOW because they have vaginas and you only have a penis?*

* Please note I was kidding.

Matt Damon doesn't approve of Sarah Palin as a choice for Vice President. And calls her rise as a "bad-Disney-movie".

And Rosie says no.

But another Sarah begs to differ.

Marketing feminism? Well, maybe we should market feminism correctly. Like...Women Suffrage Action Figures! And no, they won't be sexy. They'll be like all the other superhero action figures. Just in the form of early feminists. How cool does that sound?

Thank you for reading my humble updates on politics.

Have a good day!

2 Girls, 1 Revolution: Day 2: Make It A Vase

Today's revolution wasn't as epic, but it forced me to be resourceful and use my clever brain I know I have.

In my Ceramics class, we were given an assignment to make a coil bottle.
I fucked up the bottle. I was half-way through, as I was screaming at myself in my head.
Today, when I walked into class, I asked myself, "What will I do with this?" until the lightbulb went off. Make it a vase! And give it to a truly great woman. My mom.
Luckily, this being our second assignment, my teacher was forgiving. Thank you!

With our new "Fuck it!" lifestyle today, people just give up on something hard. It's sad. They just quit when something's hard. "Why try and get equal rights? It's not like guys ever take us seriously."
But hey! If I can turn a schlop of clay shit into a vase, you can turn this schlop of society into a great place to live.

As Rosie the Riveter (not Palin the Riveter) said:
"We Can Do It!"

2 Girls, 1 Revolution Day 1: Live on the wild side

So, I'm a little late because of an extremely long story you don't want to hear.

So you've obviously heard from Sara that her and I are trying to change our lives in 21 days.
She got the courage to sit with a group of girls at lunch, and discussed her poetry class with them, and I give my applause.
I decided I would live a little bit on the wild side.

No, I didn't go to a Hollywood party and get wasted off my ass. Instead, I ventured into a nearby mini-forest, which is inclined, and walk all the way to the watering plant at the top (and take a shortcut home).
With nothing but my camera and a big stick I found inside, I ventured into the forest.

My legs did get tired, but I kept on.
I got a nasty sliver in my hand, and I didn't get it out until today. I got stickers on me everywhere, and the itty bitty blackberries I used for energy were terrible.
At one point, I got lost. I only used my instincts, and my eyes to spot a path. Then, I seriously regretted not bringing my phone.
I took a deep breath, and found a stickery path, and took it. I stuck it out, and got out. I took the stickers out of my leg, and looked at the plant before me.

I felt a sense of accomplishment walking through the forest, not knowing anything but my end location. I wanted to take a huge nap afterwards, but still, I had done something other than sit around like a princess in the tower all day.

Pictures later.
Today's will be posted later tonight.

Some anti-feminism that'll make you laugh.

Going through a divorce? Make him biscuits.

Haha, funny. Except you've got a stick up your ass.

Women earning more than their husbands? What a confusing concept!

"That is such a chick thing to do."

Sexy Vice President Sarah Palin Action Figures! Oh the misogyny!

Dude got dumped. For realz.

And they say feminism is irrelevant, and "What rights don't they have?"

Ugh.

2 years Buzznet! 2 years!

So, besides being 9/11, today is my 2nd year anniversary with Buzznet.
Two years! What a long time!
And my, how I've grown since then.

When I came to Buzznet, I had one clear goal in mind: To stare at Patrick Stump.
Since then, it has repositioned to William Beckett. I kid, I kid.
But, I have since improved my songwriting, made excellent friends, and found the cure for cancer. Okay, maybe not the last one.

I could say so many things to Buzznet, but let me summarize it in just a sentence, and nothing more:
HERE'S TO THE NEXT FOUR!

Short and sweet.
Because you all know I don't write long.

Weekly Playlist August 31-Septemer 5

I bet I can make a better playlist than a certain Buzznet Buzzmaker.
Not to sound cocky.

This playlist is stuff that describes my week. A minimum of five songs, maximum of seven. Can I do it? You be the judge.

"Knock 'Em Out" by Lily Allen: "You can't knock 'em out, you can't walk away, try desperately to think of the politest way to say." You said it, sister.

"Hero/Heroine" by Boys Like Girls: Such a great mushy love song, that described my feelings for a certain dazzlee. Ah... me feel fuzzy inside.

"Beware! Cougar!" by The Academy Is...: But, alas, he is too old for me. Sigh... if only age was just a number...

"Dangerous" by My Amerixan Heart: His flirting is just so dangerous, it should be a crime.

"Expectations" by Belle & Sebastien: They just have such terrible expectations for us.

Such a therapeutic way to close the week, don't you say?

So, I shall close the week by listening to these songs.

Easier said than done.

Sara isn't the only paranoid Twinburger right now.

It's so easy to tell someone to not care what other people think.
Of course, it's obvious that you can't be liked by everyone. But why do we get worked up when one person doesn't like us?

I can say that in real life, I don't care so much what the bad people think about me. Oh well, they don't like me, their opinion doesn't matter.
But why is it I always care what people on Buzznet think of me?

And when friends don't talk to me, I always get scared "Are they annoyed by me?"

So lately, I've been trying to boost my confidence by telling myself that I am dazzling.
And it has helped.
Of course, you don't actually have to say "dazzling". You can say "awesome", "cool", "fabulous", any synonym for those words.
Because you all are.

So...

I'm the new TAI mod...

Don't worry, as far as I know, Savannah is still dazzling the community.
I'm just helping spread the dazzle.

Actually, I don't know much.

Anyways,

I'M DAZZLING!

And I may just post some new songs sometime.

Book Review: Avalon High by Meg Cabot

I recently picked up another Meg Cabot novel from the library out of curiousity, especially after this quote she said.
"I didn't take my husband's last NAME when we got married. Do you honestly think I'd like a story about a girl considering changing SPECIES for a guy? No offense to any of you, but as a feminist, I just can't go there... "--Meg Cabot on her feelings on the Twilight series.

So here are my feelings on Avalon High.

Elaine "Ellie" Harrison is a normal teenage girl. Except for the fact that her parents are college professors, and "medievalists", and are taking a year off from their teaching to go on a sabbatical, where every five years they take a break to write their book. Her mother writes about the Lady of Shalott. Her father writes about a sword. So her family picks up and moves from their lovely Minnesota town to Annapolis. Luckily, she has a pool there. Where she floats on a raft all day, just reading. She finds it relaxing.
Her parents are annoyed with her constant floating, so her mom strikes a deal: If she takes her dad out a running every day (Ellie was on the track team at her own school.) then her mom will cease to complain about the floating. While running with her father, she bumps into three kids. One blond girl, two boys, one blonde and another brunette. The blondes stare at her, while the brunette smiles at him.

A. William Wagner, Will for short, is senior-class president, quarterback of the football team, a total sweetheart, and the brunette who smiled at Ellie. On their first day of school, when they bump into each other again, Will feels like they've met before. Though they haven't.

My favorite things:

  • All the medieval parts in it. Like the sword, The Order of the Bear, etc.
  • Will Wagner. He's dazzling.
  • Ellie. She's spicy. Also, I can somewhat relate to her (though I've had more boyfriends (just sayin'))
  • Marco. Actual quote: "Yo! Lily Maid! Get out from behind there. I'm not kidding. I'll blow a hole through him, I swear."
  • Ellie's obsession with floating.
  • Will's obsession with his boulder.
  • THE DRAMA!!!!!!!

Things that annoyed me:

  • Jennifer. Her interests? Shopping and A. William Wagner! Dear Lord.
  • Ellie's friend from back home, Nancy. She gives Ellie romantic advice, even though she hasn't had a boyfriend either.
  • The fact that Ellie's address is put in the student guide. Um...at least Will didn't have to stalk for it.
  • How much of a gossip Liz is. I can understand gossiping about the "It" couple, Will and Jennifer. But gossiping about his family issues? Like it's some sorority scandal? Talk about disrespectful.

Would I reccommend this book?
It's not misogynist like Twilight, and is quite the quick read (I read it in two days!).
But some people will definetely react differently to the book.

Idiotic Quote Actually Uttered #1: "They don't think."

A few things to love about my school: Off-campus lunch, good friends, and there is never a shortage of idiots who never give you any chance to mock them, because they do it all themselves.

So, my new series, is the dumbest quotes overheard during my school hours.
Whether they show off pure ignorance, or just stupidity, prepare for a laugh!

Today, in my Biology class, we discussed what makes an organism dead or alive. I guess I can't explain the discussion well, huh?

Anyways, our teacher pointed out that trees don't think, when this quote was uttered:
"People with disabilities don't think."

Of course, I argued with him, and he asked me how I knew that they had brains. "Have you looked at their brains?"

No. I know they think because they walk. And talk. To other people! OMG, how wacky!

People with disabilities aren't sub-mutant creatures.
They think. Just differently.

And that concludes this entry in "Idiotic Quotes Actually Uttered!".
Thank you and good night!

In defense of the Palins

Haven't watched the news lately? Or read the newspaper? Or even read your favorite political blog?
Then you might not've heard that John McCain's vice president pick, Alaska Govenor Sarah Palin's daughter, seventeen-year-old Bristol, is pregnant. Of course, Bristol "chose" to keep the child.

Do I agree with Palin's policies and opinions? No. I am pro-choice and for gay marriage.
But is it annoying me that Mrs. Palin is the one under fire when she can't stop her daughter from having sex? Yes. I mean, what was Palin supposed to do? Walk in on her daughter having sex, pick her up off the dude, and throw a chastity belt on her?

Of course, the media has forced a backlash out of Barrack Obama, who declined and said his mother had him 18.
John McCain basically said he knew Bristol was pregnant before he picked Palin, and didn't care.

Teenage pregnancy is not glamourous. There is no denying that.
But obviously, Obama, McCain, and Palin aren't focusing on the issue.
So can we just let the issue drop?

Also, not to sound cliche, but what message is this sending?
Get knocked up and you'll get attention?
And that message is coinciding with Jamie-Lynn's constant coverage of her teenaged pregnancy/motherhood, the teenage pregnancy pact scandal, and Stephenie Meyer's Breaking Dawn sending the message that getting married and pregnant straight out of high-school is oh-so-fabulous.

And where is the sympathy for this poor girl?
First, her mom believes she doesn't have the right to chose whether she wants the child or not, even if she was raped.
Second, rumours swirl that Bristol is the supposed mother of five-month-old Trigg (who has Down Syndrome).
Third, she's pregnant.
Now, no one will leave her and her family alone about the incident.
Poor girl will probably have blogs all over write "slut" on her picture. Her mother's WikiPedia article will be infiltrated with "Palin has a daughter, Bristol, who is a slut who got pregnant at 17." and all sorts of horrible things (even though you can get pregnant your first time having sex, FYI.)

On a side-note, this is so not classy.

This Is Why

I wrote a new song.
In my opinion, it is quite the catchy tune.
What do you think yourself?

"This Is Why"

You have as much class as a street walker
You dress like a bum sleeping in the streets
No manners, no sympathy, not much of a tease
Don't even get me started
You're as pathetic as a salesperson
As worthless and lonely as a missing shoe
As beautiful as a sewer mutant so down
This is why I say good-bye

Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye
So now you know why that this is why I say good-bye

You're as boring and predictable as television
As compromisable as a car dealership
As friendly as a bouncer at the club
And this is why I say good-bye

Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye
Everybody why I'm saying good-bye

Why was I in this relationship?
Doesn't matter anymore
Cause I'm saying good-bye

Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye
Good-bye

I was...
Not in a good mood.
Forgive and forget?
