About my obsession with children's fantasy novels/movies?

I don't believe I did.

Well, I did now.

I am quite obsessed with Harry Potter and Narnia, if you couldn't tell.
I'm so obsessed with children's fantasy novels, I'm actually writing one (with a friend, but we're having creative differences)

It's about two kids, who discover a secret world in a treehouse in the forest near their neighborhood, and this world contains two difference lands with two different rulers. Lennox, ruler of Madrell, and Dementia and Darth, ruler of Dixinull. As if you couldn't tell, Dementia and Darth are the villains, who capture humans, in fear that they could kill them. The children and Lennox are aided by a wise-cracking rabbit, a half-bird, half-human thing with a cockney accent, and a free-spirited fairy, who is much stronger than you think for a fairy.

I know, it sounds odd, but I think it's excellent.

By the way, Prince Caspian is the British William Beckett. That is all.

Answer these two questions for me:

A guy sleeps with 50 girls, and he is considered...stud, right?
On the other hand...
A girl sleeps with 50 guys, and she is considered...slut, right?

How unfair is that?

My best friend, Becky, is so boss. I walk over to her with my make-up smeared, and she just says, "Is there anyone's face I have to beat in?"
She does sleep around, I will admit, but that doesn't distract from her awesomeness.
She gets nothing but crap from guys who do the exact same thing. Sleep around with more girls than their puny brains could count.
How hypocritical is that?

But, that is, unfortunately, how society works.
Guy can sleep with whoever he wants, but girl has to restrict herself.

If a guy or girl wants to have sex, it's their business. No one has the right to make fun of them for it.

And let me just add this:
Girl sleeps with guy, multiple rumors swirl that she is pregnant, has an STD, getting an abortion, etc.
But the guy remains unprotected by the rumor mill.
At least, that's how I see it.
So fair, right?

And of course, I just choose to add this last piece of information:
A slut is sexually promicsious, not someone you dislike or has a Disney television show and bad but platinum record.
Just saying.

I will admit, I love the show Lizzie McGuire.
A show about a normal girl trying to survive through the perils of middle school, like cute boys, cheerleaders, and her friends going through their troubles.
I was hooked on Lizzie.
Until her best guy friend, Gordon, and her, started liking each other.
Why?
It felt SO cliche!
And unreal!

I also love That's So Raven.
It feels so relatable. Except for, she can see the future.
Her and Eddie were excellent friends, and never once had one romantic feeling.
Until my least favorite episode, where some dating website said they were meant for each other.

It feels that Disney is cashing in on guy and girl friends falling for each other, now.

Not just Disney, though.
Nickelodeon has a show, The Naked Brothers Band, where female Rosalina, clearly has feelings for Nat, and Nat writes songs with Rosalina as the inspiration.
On iCarly, Freddie has a crush on Carly, and constantly mock any guy Carly's interested in, whether or not they are actuallu nice.
On Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide, Ned and Jennifer aka "Moze" have crushes on each other, but constantly deny it.
On Zoey 101, Zoey and Chase are "in love" with each other, as they claim.

And, it's not just on children's television shows.
The upcoming movie, Made of Honor, starring Patrick Dempsey, is about a man who is in love with his best girl friend, only to find out she is engaged, and wants him as her Maid of Honor.

There are plenty other media outlets where good friends of the opposite sex fall in love.

What is my problem with this?
It makes it seem every guy friend will turn into your boyfriend, and vice versa.
It's JUST NOT TRUE!

I have so many guy friends, and girl friends.
I can talk to some of my guy friends about anything (believe me, I talk to them about my period.)
But could I ever date any of them? HELL NO!
That old saying "Best friend make good boyfriends" does not apply with them.
One of them acts like a rockstar, in the sense that he thinks he's Gene Simmons.
Another constantly gets grounded for packaging his dad in Chinese resteraunts.
Another does certain things I highly disapprove of.
Another is completely Republican and hates TAI.
None, is what I would consider boyfriend-material.
I love them as friends, and trust them and are fun to be around, but I would not date them.

The concept of "boy and girl best friends fall in love" is so cliche, I want to rip my hair out!
Girls and girls can be friends.
Guys and guys cane be friends.
So can't girls and boys be friends without romantic feelings?

Hollywood, please find better plotlines.

Lately, I've just been awfully depressed and miserable for reasons I will only tell my closest Buzzfriends.

Point is, I feel like shit, so I may be a bit isolated lately on Buzznet. Don't worry, I'm just miserable as fuck.

I'm not condemning anyone for participating in this, but...

Since when does happiness rely on whether you have a boyfriend or girlfriend?
Or material things such as iPods and laptops?
Or your parents status?
Or your education?
Or how many friends you have on MySpace/Buzznet/real life?
Or your screen name?
Or how many songs you know by heart?

Crying is usually a sign of sadness, but crying is good for you. It releases your feelings, and it feels like a load off your chest.
I have a lot of enemies, and I'm perfectly happy.
I do get happy getting allowance, but it's only a temporary fix.

Material things are such a temporary fix for happiness. It's like weed*. It may help you feel better then, but fast forward 20 years, and you aren't feeling all that great about it.
And why do we need to rely our feelings on who we're dating? Boy or girl?
Dating can give you a shitload of heartbreak.
I have so many friends who have Fs on their report cards, and they are happy. Fs are generally not a good thing to have, but I have an extreme dislike with the school system right now and feel they should not determine our feelings.

You wanna know why I know why I'm happy?

I HAVE FRIENDS IN REAL LIFE WHO MAKE ME SMILE!

All of this and balancing you guys, is tough.

So I will be taking a posting break.
Meaning I will be posting little to nothing until I can get my grades up.
I will be talking to you guys on PMs, participating in groups, and checking out other's stuff, but I cannot post anything until my grades get up.

You can certainly have work friends, but when they're doing their JOB, it is not their job to be a reporter for you. You should treat Kimberley with respect, by showing some respect by listening to what she has to say.

Spencer, your sister took you into her house when you had nowhere else to go, the least you could do is show her respect. Don't tell her to clean up your mess, don't give her a hard time over her classmates, let alone her friends, no matter what you think of them. And especially, do not tell her she's making herself cry because she's trying to live a life, while you just lay on the couch, watching television.
And for God's sake, if you have one more "rolling with my enemy" speech, I will march down to L.A., and have some fine gentlemen knock some damn sense into you.

You two cannot treat people this way.

And Spencer, oh what else can I say about you?

Try getting a JOB, finding your own APARTMENT, quit MOOCHING OFF OF PEOPLE! These women in your life are trying to live their own life, and you should follow their example.

And Heidi, not all girls share fashion in common. I'll admit, a lot of girls love clothes, but there's a difference between liking shopping and actually having a true passion for fashion.
Wanting to design them, or figuring out how to bring out the best in a person's body based on clothes, coming up with innovative ways to wear clothes, thinking in new ways to look good. That's what Lauren and Stephanie have in common, a passion for fashion.
You and all the other girls have buying clothes and looking cute on a night out in common.
Just because you dislike Lauren does not mean Stephanie has to.

I may also like to add, I am not a fan of Heidi and Spencer, but if I think your comment crosses the line, I will remind you that you are a bit rude in your post. Because Heidi Montag and Spencer Pratt may be celebrities, but they are people, and it may sound hypocritical coming from me, but names hurt. I, here, am just pointing out things they should improve on.
And this has turned into another rant.

Avril Lavigne has released a new music video for her fourth single on her album, The Best Damn Thing, "The Best Damn Thing".

And here are my thoughts on the video:

Okay, Avril, we get it. You hate it when a guy isn't polite. But is it really that bad to pay for dinner? And this is coming from a cheapskate. And I don't think it looks that bad...

There is an obvious theme of cheerleaders in pink and black, which must be Avril's favorite colors right now. Yeah, cheerleaders...very revolutionary...

She is, of course playing with her band, in a graffiti-ed studio very "Girlfriend"-esque. Sweetheart, try mixing it up a little in your videos, it's not that bad.

Butch Walker makes guest vocal appearances in the song, saying "Hey hey hey", but sadly, does not make a physical appearance in the video. Shame...

Oh. My. God. Is she wearing a pink wig? I think we all know where that came from. (*cough*Britney Spears*cough*)

Now she's spelling. How Fergie. Now, we know how to spell "Bananas", "Fergalicious", "Glamorous", and "Avril". I see a steady incline in spelling for our youth.

I like her outfit she's wearing when she's performing with her band, and her dress with the pink wig. I'll give her that.

To sum it up, this video is similar to her own, Gwen Stefani, Fergie, and even includes a rip from Britney.

Nothing spectacular.

Yeah, so I searched my username on Google.

Up came an internet insult someone slashed at me that I hadn't even seen, where they told me that I bang my mom (Really, I don't recall that, just only remember asking my mom to put lotion on my sunburn, and perhaps breastfeeding when I was waaaaaaaaaay young.) But don't worry, the glorious, almighty Mark got rid of her.

I also found a whole bunch of links to some site advertising Ambien and Vicodin...okay?
What do I really have to do with an insomnia medication and a painkiller?
Really?
I do not treat insomnia or pain.
I just write journals.
And leave comments on people's stuff.
And turn into a lobster.

So, yesterday I sat down with the little girl I babysat, Scout, and watched Harry Potter and the Order of the Pheonix (I am aware it is rated PG13, but her mother approved.) And while watching, I pondered these three things:

1. Hogwarts is so much like our public schools right now.
   I am not speaking for all public schools, but for mine.
   
   Hogwarts, in this movie, is taken over by Dolores Umbridge, who starts focusing the students more towards passing their OWLs, and less towards stuff they may actually use in the future, such as combat skills. Umbridge is focusing them towards their OWLs, for the Minister of Magic, Cornelius Fudge's fear that Professor Dumbledore, Headmaster of Hogwarts, is training an army of students to take on the ministry.
   
   Of course, we don't have a principal who fears the superintendent is training an army to take on the govenor, but my school district is more focused towards teaching us material to help us pass the WASLs (our state's standardized test).
   And, Hogwarts students aren't passing their OWLs, such as from what I'm concerned, students at my school aren't doing so well on their WASLs.
   
   I doubt J.K. Rowling was trying to take on American public schooling in her book, or David Yates was attempting to, also.
   But I think it's a perfect mirror, don't you think?
   
   This furthers my theory that if you need a comparison to an issue, look at some Harry Potter plotline to help you.
   
2. Dumbledore is the perfect gay role model.
   So, if you read Mark's journal, you should know by now that Dumbledore has come out.
   
   "Why?" you may ask.
   Well, Dumbledore is not the sterotypical gay man.
   Never once, had Dumbledore gossiped with Hermione or had some sexual relations with Harry like so many gay guy sterotypes I've heard.
   Dumbledore was just an awesome person, who happened to be gay.
   
   I'm not sure if I'm wording this right, but let me sum it up:
   Albus Dumbledore is the perfect gay role model because he is not the gay stereotype.
   
   And for J.K. Rowling putting the gay community into a new perspective as just normal, everyday people?
   BRAVO!!!!
